Certified Yoga Instructor
ABOUT ME
Off the Mat
Hi! My name is Kirk. I write, sing, watch hockey and listen to opera. I am a classically-trained musician. I love animals and spend as much time outdoors as possible. I first began yoga in college back in 1999. I knew instantly that it was for me. My practice had been sporadic for many years though, letting life get in the way. When I began practicing yoga, along with meditation, in earnest my life changed drastically for the better!
With the help of regular yoga and meditation I have found recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. It also has helped me to slow my life down (which was like being on rocket fuel while standing still), relax and live in the present moment. I am off of the daily coctail of anxiety medications and my depression & bipolar are under control. When life comes at me with both fists, instead of reaching for a drug (prescribed or otherwise) I do some pranayama, asanas or sit on my zafu and meditate. Life is so much better with yoga and meditation in my regular routine. I finally decided to become a certified instructor in order to share this vast knowledge and its benefits with musicians and those dealing with addiction-related issues. Yoga and meditation has changed my life, and I know it can change yours as well!
I am passionate about helping fellow addicts (like me!) and musicians reach new heights through the benefits of yoga & meditation.
I live in the Dallas area and have been married since 1996. We have four children and are owned by one dog.
